On February 28th we started a trip to Barcelona with 3 ex-students of the Cardenal Xavierre-Fesd School (Alba Clavero, Alejandro Latorre and Santiago Sánchez), to present their project A.V.E.R. (Apuntes en Realidad Virtual) in Exporecerca Jove, accompanied by the ICT teacher, Abraham Alonso, and Laura Atarés.
This year, Exporecerca Jove has been held in a special environment as it was within the space YoMo (Youth Mobile Festival) organized by GSMA.
At the end of the opening, the preparation of stands and the round of exhibitions began with juries included. Once the exhibition day was over, we went on a tour of the centre of Barcelona, seeing Casa Batlló, Plaza Cataluña, Las Ramblas and even part of the Barcelona carnival.
The following day was very intense with a visit of more than twenty members of the jury and many students from different schools and institutes of Barcelona. Many of them were interested in the Virtual Reality project and its application to education, they tried the different Virtual Reality glasses and… they were amazed!
At the end of the day, we visited CosmoCaixa, an interactive science museum with a small flooded forest, mathematical sculptures, representations of space and Antarctic penguins. It was a very interesting and entertaining visit; besides, we were able to “rub shoulders” with 3 scientific celebrities…
Saturday was our last day. In the morning we had a large influx of people, especially families with children interested in learning differently.
After lunch, the closing ceremony took place, where we were delighted with a contemporary dance show, and prizes were given out for the best work. It was time to say goodbye to our fellow Zamoranos and our friends from Sanlúcar de Barrameda and to a multitude of participants from Barcelona. It was also time to say goodbye to Magma and the magnificent Exporecerca that it organizes year after year.
In short, they were 3 very intense days during which we learned a lot from our colleagues and shared unforgettable moments
